You are so right that the MT 1972 Con Con was set up to remove the old 1889 Constitution and replace it with a progressive, living document that focused on the environment. I appreciate your information on the Montana Constitution & Convention. But you are wrong about the advancing Article V Convention of States, which will be LIMITED to areas authorized in the applying legislation passed and approved by two-thirds of the states. Regretfully, you've bought into the Progressive misinformation campaign. Such a Convention must vote to propose an amendment, draft it and get two-thirds of the delegates from the states to adopt the provisions of a specific amendment, with EACH STATE having an EQUAL VOTE. The Convention will submit the proposed amendments to the states, each of which then must be RATIFIED by three-quarters of the 50 state legislatures to be valid. These provisions are enforced by the States, Congress and the Supreme Court.

There is good reason to argue that the 1972 Constitution was NOT passed by voters, but was only invoked through the machinations of the Montana Supreme Court.
